Father Daniel Comboni founded the Comboni Missionaries in the 1860s to carry on the missionary work that he began in Africa. The Comboni Missionaries work to spread the love of God, improve social conditions, provide basic health care and educate those whom they serve. There are Comboni Sisters and Priests around the world including Europe, Asia, Central and South America, the United States and, of course, Africa.
There is no better example of the Comboni spirit than Father Richard Kyankaaga who has served in Darfur, Sudan and currently directs a missionary school in Cairo, Egypt. His commitment to the people of his home village, Kabingo, provides the vision and inspiration for Hope for Kabingo. We operate in collaboration with Father Richard, the Comboni Priests and committed lay staff at the North American Provincial office in Cincinnati, Ohio.
